I joined the lab in the summer of 2024. My research interests include fish physiology, conservation biology, and ecological monitoring of native California fish species. I’m particularly focused on how species respond to environmental change and how we can develop sustainable management strategies for aquatic ecosystems. In the lab, I’ve gained hands-on experience with delta smelt, longfin smelt, green sturgeon, and white sturgeon through daily fish care. I also assist with necropsies for the delta smelt acoustic telemetry tagging project and conduct data collection at the Putah Creek Rotary Screw Trap site to monitor the spring-run Chinook salmon population.
