Research Interests:

Hi! My name is Ty Shikashio, and I am a research assistant at the Fish Conservation Physiology (Fangue) Lab. My research interests focus on the ecology and evolution of California’s native salmonids, especially the rainbow trout, golden trout, and chinook salmon. I’ve been lucky enough to work with many fish species here at the lab, including green sturgeon, delta smelt, longfin smelt, and chinook salmon.

With regards to salmonids, I am particularly interested in how they are adapting to climate change, and strategies for how we can help keep their populations in good health.
